We've been slowly doing things to this bus since we got it home back in March. It is going to be a project as it has many needs. We were diligently looking for a engine and was close to pulling the trigger until the main floor a/c went out. $1000 and two days later the second floor unit went out. Luckily it was just a capacitor and they only took $270 from me. So, with the engine budget down to $900 there really is no choice but to do the piddly things until we can get that built back up. We've taken out the interior and she decided to get rid of the sink (which sold quick) the side cabinent, the rear overhead shelf and the a/c unit that was under the side seat. She wants to do her own thing and be able to see out of the side rear window. It is her bus so she can do what she pleases with it. Today we've pulled the gas tank and are cleaning up some more things. Anyone know of a place to take the tank and have it cleaned and sealed? And look at the pictures and can anyone identify the a/c unit? It has a volkswagen tag on it. I figured it would be a westfalia tag or a aftermarket tag. Thanks for looking and hope to see some of you around town. I'm over here in Douglasville.

Why do so many buses have damage to the bottom lower quarters?

We bleached the top and it came out so much better. Will paint it when we pull it back off to have the canvas installed. It will be more fun once it can move under its own power. So far this is the only thing I have for a engine. Empty case. Too bad it is chipped on the top where the starter is bolted to.

I think it's the charcoal box. Not sure how it works exactly, but I think bayboy is right about how it filters the gas fumes.

Ahhh. Charcoal box. Just like the carbon canisters on other cars. Can anyone tell me what this knob is for?

I know the one on the side is the a/c control but I have no clue what it could be for. This weekend should be fun. Going to sand down all the roof rust and get it in some epoxy. Then I have to do around the front window opening and paint the metal on the top of the dash. After that I will attempt my first windshield install. Still have to find a place to clean and seal the gas tank. Any recommendations welcome.

I think that opens/closes the duct located at the rear of the walk-through floor section.  See the description for 2e below.

Sim's Radiator in Lawrenceville can boil out and seal a tank, buts that's quite a drive for you. I would think that there are other radiator shop closer that could do the same.
