New to me 69 beetle
Just picked this up. Not sure what to do with it yet. Body needs work but it isn't a rust bucket. It is also a one owner car. Motor is strong but not sure what size it is.

Looks nicer than the C.L. photos- looks like a good solid foundation to build on

Re: New to me 69 beetle
It has tons of gene berg engine parts in it, if not a berg built engine. Dellortos of unknown size. Mallory unilite with electronic ignition and MSD. Merged header with o2 sensor.

Do you happen to have a picture of the motor? I am curious to see what it looks like since you mentioned the Berg parts.

Re: New to me 69 beetle
I will get one tomorrow. Found a bunch of old receipts and berg instruction papers. Looks like a new case also. Found gas receipts with odometer readings after the new engine was put in. Has about 2500 miles in it.

Re: New to me 69 beetle
What you can't see is the berg full flow filter. The case has no numbers on it, so it appears to be new and looks to have the berg case nut modification. The linkage and crank pulley are also berg.

Re: New to me 69 beetle
Just talked to the original builder. It's a 1776 with cb 044 big valve heads. Bigger cam and counterweighted crank. All balanced. New spot faced case.

That's really cool. Sounds like an added bonus to the car.

Re: New to me 69 beetle
After cleanup. It looks better in the pics than it really is, but would make a good hood ride. The front hood and fender are damaged but I have replacements. I also have a drivers door but would hate to lose the original paint on the inside. Not to mention it closes like brand new.

Re: New to me 69 beetle
So I thought my daughter wanted this car, but she changed her mind. At this point, I dont have the time to put into the body. I am going to keep the engine for my oval, but I would really love to find someone to take the body and keep it alive. If not, I will have to cover it up until I can find time for it. Make me an offer.
