gotta say goodbye to my Baja

Long story short. . Was having a fire and wanted some purdy company so I sent my buddy w the car to go pick her up. He was the only one not Dranking . . Car broke down. I went and got it running and she got in the truck w me cuz it was warmer.goin own the dirt road running 45following my bug and I watch it run the stop sign dig the driver front in and Launch. Rolled/flip landed back on all 4s facing 90° differently. .







Will is all right. Bruised and shooken up. The car appears to have the beam bent back on the pass side and the trailing arm destroyed on the driver rear. Twisted it to the angle you see the tire at. . Body's destroyed but I'm goin to salvage the pan and drop my 67 on it. Goin to need some parts and goin to part the Baja out.

Found a wire or two unplugged when the batt flipped over. Plugged it back up and the car runs fine. Seemed to be pulling in all gears also and now leaks so I'm guessing no cracked case or trans. . Got my body seperated from the pan.when I Git it off I'll be able to see better. .Story does get a llittlee worse tho.so with 3 tailgates and a bonfire at home I made the decision that it would be best to go up in person to file the report that night before someone called and found the car and they came looking for me. . So on the way to the wreck with 2 cops tailing........

Dang, sounds like a rough weekend. Glad everyone is ok. I think I would keep Will out of the drivers seat of your cars in the future!

Yep. With that luck? Im keepin him out the pass seat too.. I'm wondering what kind of trouble I'm goin to have putting the 67 on that 73. . Anybody else done that, old on new

Alex did it a while back. As long as the later chassis is a standard pan and not a super, all you have to do is remove the mounts in the rear fender well of the body, and re-weld them a little higher.

it is 1-2" too tall for the early body, but dead on as far as alignment goes



as my car was a little rusty and will need bodywork in the future, I removed the body mounts for now and will re-install them ASAP.

More irony. Deer jumped over the Deere tag and took out the ford oval. We joked bout putting a billet grille and just a ford tag. .

Got the body off. . wasn't the prettiest. Took 3guys, a street sign pole, and a bronco. Its not going to be any fun with a good body since I'llbe careful then. . I was amazing at how simple it was as far as wiring to the pan and the few bolts. .have to admit the seats kicked my butt. Couldn't figure them out


But if you can't afford autohaus. . Redneck davis will tow it.

Wow man, glad he's ok. Car can be fixed, replaced etc....that looked pretty rough. Glad you can save something from it though
