PCA Polar bear run 12.29
Anyone interested in doing this? Just got an email from PCA that SOG will be doing a run to the Micro Car Museum.
Email below.
Saturday, December 29
Motorin' to Madison's Micros aka The Polar Bear Run
Looking for something to do between Christmas and New Years? Dust off your Porsches (or anything else that needs driving). Peachstate Region has been invited to join the Southern Owners Group (Porsche 356s) on their Saturday, December 29 drive to the Madison, GA Microcar Museum. Please note: this is not a Peachstate event, as we will be guests of the SOG.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Join us for a drive and say farewell to Bruce Weiner's Microcar collection which will be auctioned off in February. The museum is the best and largest of its kind anywhere in the world so plan to join us (with our 100+ vintage and sports cars of all marques) for the 1.5 hour drive to Madison.
Date: Saturday, December 29
Time: 9:00 am gathering, 10:00 am departure
Starting location: 1525 E. Park Boulevard, Stone Mountain 30087 (by Hardee's and The Outback Steakhouse)
Destination: Madison, GA for lunch and shopping
At 1:30 pm - 2:00 pm, we'll leave for the Microcar Museum for viewing the collection of 300 small cars. Museum entrance fee? There's a suggested donation of $5.00; however, the event itself is free.
We all hope for great weather, unlike the first Polar Bear Run of 12 years ago which started on a bone chilling 17 degree morning!

I'd be interested. I've been wanting to get to the museum before it closes. Since I am in the Athens area I would just meet up at the museum.
Re: PCA Polar bear run 12.29
The Aircooled Addicts went there earlier this year- it's really a cool place, with a bunch of one of a kind cars- didn't realize it was going to close and be auctioned off

I would be up for going one last time. I enjoyed it the first time. Probably wouldn't do the cruise as I would go out 16.

I have a Porsche engine in my Thing, does that legitimize my showing up at a Porsche event?

So where are the Hwy 16 cruisers meeting up? Will we go 16 to Monticello and then up 83 to Madison?

Yeah Bob either that or stay on 16 till will get outside of Eatonton and hang a left on 441. You guys want to meet at Griffiths Drive In off 16 on the east side of Griffin? We could eat lunch and see if it is somewhere we would like to cruise in for Y U Buggin.......the address is 1015 Memorial Dr. Griffin 30223

Depends on the motor. They do not recognize flat fours :^).I know other car groups are going.
I would like to meet on 16 if I can go. Just found out I have Family obligations that weekend, so I have to see if Saturday is open.

I may. For some reason I was thinking this trip was this weekend, and I wouldn't have been able to make it. Now that I realize it's NEXT weekend, there may be hope for me!
