VW transmission identification

My dad has this old split case VW transmission. The wheel end of the axles have been cut off and from what he has told me is that the gears have been welded together for positive traction. The number on the case is 113.301.102b What would it have been on? What year and is it worth anything?

Looks like they cut off the belhousing as well...
Gonna be hard to mount it to an engine.

Years ago a friend's father used vw transaxle like this for walking tractor . he mounted a 5 hp briggs on top with chain and sprockets . had small tractor tires .a plow attached on back under handlebars.
