A word of advice for those that don't know, they no longer have the speaker boxes that attach to your car. You hear the movie via your car radio, you tune to a specific station. If you don't have a radio or a battery that will last the duration I suggest carrying a portable radio. Boombox for those lost in the 80s.

And a reminder if you do have a radio and eletric points don't use your radio with the car off or you'll fry your ignition.

Dont leave your key on without the car running. It will fry the electronic ignition and/or points depending on what you have

damn, i have never heard of that before. good thing i have (had) my radio on a toggle switch. i learned something today

Just checking back to this thread to see what the date was and noticed Bob posted an update on the first page a while back. I wanted to bump this thread and make sure everyone sees it. Mark your calendars. This is the weekend after bug-a-paluza.

Update 2/26/2009
Talked to the Theater Manager today we have a go for the 25th as planned. The time we get in has changed, we can start lining up at 5pm and enter at 6pm. That way we can all be together. You can grill out if you like, he asked that we not dump out hot coals and that we are finished with all activities by show time. So grills out campers down, etc.
I told him around 75 to 100 vehicles, so make plans now. Get with your chapter members and get an estimated count.

I think I can make it. The wife will go if we can get a sitter a 1 year old wont sit thru all that.
X2 on the ignition, I got a petronix mine will fry fast. Damn I got to find a radio w/batteries. Should be fun and im not working that day

The Drip'n Drivers will get rallied up for this! Hopefully, my car will be under its own power by then !

Two weeks and we cruise to the Starlight Drive Inn. Hope everyone can come, praying for good weather! This is just a reminder, folks are real busy right now.

I'm calling in for this one

Well Bug-A-Paluza has come and gone but we still have some great things happening.

Do not forget about this weekends Starlight Drive Inn Cruise. We can start linig up around 5 - 5:30 they will allow us to enter the Drive Inn around 6pm. If you want to get there after 6 thats no problem. I will contact the manager this week early to see what will be playing and see if I can request something like Herbie or Cars (kid friendly). The weather looks to be perfect! Check out the Drive Inns site for a few rules about Tailgating. http://www.starlightdrivein.com/

I would like to have an aproximate number to give to the manager so if you could get with your respective Chapter organizer and let them know how many Cars/Folks will be in your party. Then Chapter Reps PM me so we can keep the number of post to a minimun and I can keep track of the final number. I'll post those numbers as they come in and we can see how great an event this is going to be.

I talked to the Manager Jim today (4/22) and everything is a go for Sat. nite. They look forward to us coming and are greatful for our business.

There is one change. The gates will open at 6:30. I thought he had told me 6pm but the word is 6:30. I know some of the chapters have made "meeting up" plans so you may or may not want to adjust for this time change. Again sorry about that, I'm sure he told me the first time 6pm, but it is what it is. We will have fun I'm sure! If you do get there early he said they have a large grassy lot that the kids could run around and play in.

I asked about specific movies, yeah we don't want to rent a screen. It's like $2000.

Go to their web site....Starlight Drive In and click on "Now Playing". Look that over and we'll decide which set we want to watch or you may want to go to your own way.

This drive in does not have speakers. You tune your car radio to a station for the screen you are watching and you can listen to the movie. I'm bringing a boom box of some kind, you may want to as well. Just a thought.

Directions. On their web site again go to "Map" and you will find directions. It is not hard to find. If you have a GPS here is their street address......

i vote fast and furious 4 . seems appropriate don't you, lol. it says something about late show only friday and saturday, and the times 8:30 and 12:30. so does that mean only the 12:35 show, or are they still doin 8:30? no way i'm stayin for the 12:30 show (gotta work the next day), lol.

Just seems like an appropriate movie, lol (even tho there prolly isn't a single VW in it, hahaha).

I had a good time tonight. Enjoyed seeing everyone that came out. Took the bus for its first interstate ride on the way home and it did great!
