Bulli 2012

Just trying to get a little early planning. Anybody going and planning to camp at Fort DeSoto??? We've never done Kips on Friday night, but probably will this year, but we're also thinking about camping at the park. Just wondering if any other GA Dubbers were camping at the park.

I was thinking about it. Usually to drunk @ Kips to drive over to DeSoto. Heard Kip might not be doing it this year. Going to have to do some research.

Yeah, we are thinking about a campsite for Friday night, then stay at the Best Western in ZephyrHills on Saturday night. We're off from work the Friday before and the Monday after, so we may actually take Thursday off and go down a day early and stay a day later as well. Not sure about that yet.

Already booked the Best Western for Saturday and Sunday just in case. Still deciding on the campsite. Unfortunately, the campsite doesn't allow cancellations/refunds. They only allow you to re-schedule one time.

Just reserved campsite 39 for Thursday and Friday night. Tentative plan is to head down there super early Thursday morning and be beach bums all day Thursday and Friday!!!

me an tracy are going to pull out at around 6 Friday night an go to the show Saturday an Sunday then head to the keys

According to the samba thread, Kip has officially decided not to do the Rare and Unique slam this year. 4 months away! Hopefully you'll have the Jolly Rancher back up and driveable by then.

The Jolly Rancher has been every year for 5 years. It'll be there this year too. I think the only thing wrong with it is the fuel pump. I'll have to see if any more sites are available.

I just checked and it didn't look like any more sites were available for reservation. Website says this though:

Fort De Soto Park does not reserve 100 percent of its sites. A number of sites are available for walk up customers only. These sites cannot be reserved in advance and must be paid for the day you arrive.

So they may have some available. When can discuss it more when it gets closer, but if you want camp, I'm planning to get there thursday morning and could possibly try to get one of these walk-up sites for you.

Except Bahia Honda where you can only have one bus per site.

The DeSoto camping rules are a little confusing.

camping is limited to 6 person per site with any of the combinations below.
a. one motor home and 2 vehicles
b. one travel trailer and 2 vehicles
c. one pop up camper and 2 vehicles
d. one pick-up truck with mounted camping rig

A,B,C all equal a total of 3 "vehicles". 3 buses would be the same size as any of these combinations. Whether or not they'll allow it, though, is the question

D makes no sense at all. I guessing this means a pick-up truck with a camper mounted in the bed, so why would all the others get two extra vehicles, but this one gets no additional vehicles????

I would love to go again,usually falls on a date I can't go. Just have to see if I can squeeze it in this year. Camping sounds cool but looks unavailable....

im going dang it want to go to the keys to but i guess we will see how money looks on if we make it that far

just got us a little cabin like thing about 30 min from the show they said you can fish out of the bed room into the harbor 450$for fri night to wed with the dogs

Sounds awesome Doodle, and yes Bahia Honda discriminates against Bus's. I will have the week off before Bulli and will be in FL and hopefully camping at DeSoto thu and fri.

As of right now, I'll be headed down on Wed morning. Plan on driving straight through. Need to make a reservation @ the Best Western for Saturday if I still can.

Awesome, we'll see you when we get down there. Bob got a room at the BW just a couple of days ago, so they may still have some available. If not, you can just camp in the parking lot, and use the shower/bathroom in our room.

It's the best western-summer crest. It's on Oakley blvd in Wesley Chapel.

Saturday is the night for the hotel parking lot party.

That Monday is a state holiday, so we booked Saturday and Sunday night just in case we decide to drive home Monday. But we will likely just do as we always do and head home from bug jam around noon or one, and cancel the Sunday night stay.

What r the dates, i need to take off work.

Bulli is Saturday November 10, Bugjam is Sunday the 11th.

Going over to DeSoto on wed morning to try and snag a walk up camp site. If unable will camp at the KOA.
