Narrowed beams? Empty Narrowed beams?

Post by Brooksmx_829 Wed May 09, 2012 12:18 pm

If I were to put some 17'' wheels on my 66' how narrow would i need to go? Some have told me only two, im thinking more like 4 but some have told me even more than that. I have no clue. Just looking for a good stance. Would be nice if it could tuck ever so slightly. tired of all the guess work so i figured id ask the experts.

Depends on how wide the wheels are. I would guess 4 that's god and tucked for most wheels but not super narrow

are you using adapters? if so,..mount everything up an see where it sits, then measure how far in you want them to sit. that should give you an idea...remember to make sure you have enough room on the back side to turn.

well.... i wont be using adapters. i would be using predrilled drums. so i wouldn't need to compensate for that.

There is a '59 in the May 2012 issue of Hot VW's that is running 17's with 215/45's on the front using a 2" narrowed beam.
