Re: Disc Brake Options for a 1965 Bus
Looking good Eric. Sounds like you are almost ready for BAP! I hope to see you there in my bus, but time is running out and the list is long. I was at the shop until 1:00 am this morning and it seems like for every one thing I get fixed, two things break! LOL

Yeah Mike, definitely say hi if you see me! I hear you on the time issues, got a long list of loose ends to tie up myself. Hope to get a LOT done this weekend.

I know what you mean. Right now it looks to be 50/50 that I am even able to get my bus up there. I am so disgusted with the recent issues that have came up, I don't even feel like working on it........

Ding Ding Ding! Get this guy a beer! Lunch break today I jacked up the rear, ground about another mm off the torsion housing on each side, replaced the rear metal brakes lines with shorter ones, and then gave the drums a spin. No resistance. I guess the shoes had settled some more. Adjusted them out about 3 notches on each star until I got a light to medium drag. Bled them and took it for a test spin to the culdesac. At least a 20% improvement! Thanks for the tip dude!

I would rather not say anything until all parties involved have had a chance to make things right........

Re: Disc Brake Options for a 1965 Bus
Do you have the rear brakes adjusted all the way out? That's always been the trick for me. If you have put new brakes on the rear, adjust them all the way out, bleed them a few times, and then adjust them all the way AGAIN. If they are new, they will have to seat themselves, which is why you need to keep checking them and make sure they are adjusted all the way out. Good luck with it!

Also, if you are using a dual circuit master cylinder, you're supposed to bleed the fronts first, then the rears. Opposite of how you typically do a single circuit system.

Re: Disc Brake Options for a 1965 Bus
Ok Thanks. They brakes on the rear or not new, but I will adjust them out more. I am concerned that I have no peddle after the two man bleeding steps. I replaced the soft and hard lines and for some reason I get fluid to all four wheels during the bleeding process, but nothing on the peddle. I wonder if my MC is bad? It was good before I put the new brakes on the front so it must be something I'm doing.
