Article says "during the war, the factory was bombed and almost all the VWs were destroyed" The war was over in 46 and this says it's a 47, so, it couldn't have survived the bombing. Major Ivan Hurst got the factory back up and producing the cars again in 46. It's definitely a nice car, but, many incorrect parts for the year it is.

they had one piece glass with a notch in it for ventilation. but the kdf wagen stopped in 44 and every single one that still exists is accounted for. not sayin its not a 47 or anything but it has so much wrong with it and it should be addressed. like i said people should try to learn.

Immediate post war cars- built from parts that were found in the factory....hmmmm -Could cause an early post war car to be missed matched? Just a thought.
But, maybe those 'wrong parts' are later stuff....that would sure sink my theory.
Definetly an interesting era of VW history!

Also-FYI
J.James also has an '49 roll-back sunroof, of sweedish origin if I remember right.
