Crusty, my '67 Squareback

Thanks!

Knocked out a couple of things under the hood- Replaced the blue brake fluid hoses, replaced the steering damper, and the steering coupling bushing- (Thanks to Clyde, Athens German Aircooled).

The steering coupler bushing had a Volkswagen part number and VW symbol on it- I'm betting it was the original one



Broke out all the tools

Replaced the rusty front bumper today

New used bumper, but I re-used the original bumper guards and brackets

Thanks, I just want to clean up the paint, and the trim pieces, and roll this one- no major restoration planned

Thought you might have used some RUST EZE Medacated Bumper Ointment on that thing there for a minute. Looks good.

Oh ok, saw the Chattanooga on it and thought it might have came from BAP. It fits the look of the car good!

Test fitting the wheels, now I've got an idea how much I need to lower the Squareback

Today, I wrestled the muffler off and swapped the highback seats for lowbacks- couldn't get the seat bases to move, so I just took off the seatbacks and combined 3 sets to make one patina set

The car just looked so wrong with highback seats- I'm sure that someone considered that an upgrade back in the day- but I couldn't wait to reverse it-

I've got a few loose ends to chase down, then it'll be a driver-

Picked up the Indy shifter at Y U Buggin- the Beetle that my brother and I shared with my dad had one in it- adjusted right, it's a great shifter!

Crusty's got the obligatory amber fog light- I think it's off an old tractor or something
