Knocked out a couple of things under the hood- Replaced the blue brake fluid hoses, replaced the steering damper, and the steering coupling bushing- (Thanks to Clyde, Athens German Aircooled).

The steering coupler bushing had a Volkswagen part number and VW symbol on it- I'm betting it was the original one

Broke out all the tools

Found it in Asheville, N.C. cheers Thought it matched the patina on the car, kind of like your Kentucky tag

Oh ok, saw the Chattanooga on it and thought it might have came from BAP. It fits the look of the car good!

Today, I wrestled the muffler off and swapped the highback seats for lowbacks- couldn't get the seat bases to move, so I just took off the seatbacks and combined 3 sets to make one patina set

The car just looked so wrong with highback seats- I'm sure that someone considered that an upgrade back in the day- but I couldn't wait to reverse it- Very Happy

I've got a few loose ends to chase down, then it'll be a driver-

Picked up the Indy shifter at Y U Buggin- the Beetle that my brother and I shared with my dad had one in it- adjusted right, it's a great shifter! Very Happy

Crusty's got the obligatory amber fog light- I think it's off an old tractor or something
