Re: Cheerokee this weekend
Indian creek sounds nice. I'm calling tomorrow and hoping they have a site available. Perfect chance to test the squareback pulling the scotty.
Re: Cheerokee this weekend
I read the reviews on Indian Creek and it sounded good so I figured I would try it. It is a little past the rest of the regular campgrounds.....we are on site 10
Re: Cheerokee this weekend

Re: Cheerokee this weekend
Thanks. I think this was the ultimate test. The mountains through Murphy and Bryson City are pretty steep. The squareback did great even in the heat miday friday. Never had to drop down below 3rd gear. I am very comfortable taking the Scotty anywhere now.bakertim2 wrote:Hank, your set up is just cool.
Re: Cheerokee this weekend
You guys missed a good time.....$10 bucks for me and Ashley to get in and show the car......they gave away $1000 in five $100 and one $500 increments throughout the day to registered cars......and three $500 awards at the end of the show (no winnings here but it was still cool)....no trophys and no judging
Also they catered in dinner for all registered participants....car owners and their families and vendors.....bbq chicken, rice, green beans, rolls, peach cobbler.......along with an Indian blues band "Native Circle Band" that I enjoyed
The best part was the camping though.....very shady and clean campground...I will def. be back
At the campsite
Best patina beetle at the show!
On the way up to see the Flamingo Balls.....I mean Mingo Falls
Definitely worth the walk
last 68 miles we carpooled

Re: Cheerokee this weekend
Same here, I'll have to try and get Friday off for this one next year so we can make it up. Looks like a cool show/campout, and you can beat that prize money if you are lucky enough to be a winner.

there were a lot more cars this time than they were last year, even though we got there late about 2:30. enjoyed all the different kind of cars.

rear wheel bearing got starved and started to lock up causing flat tire/repetitive speed bump like feeling.....I drove the car to work today without replacing the bearing but it needs it....
