67 Savannah Bus
Hey guys. New to the site. Finally getting to put my 67 Bus back together after 10 years of collecting parts and looking for a painter! It is a total body-off restoration with many custom upgrades. I'll post some pics of the progress if you are interested? Hoping to premier the bus at Bulli Brigade and Bug Jam this year. Basic intel: 13 Window Bus-all popouts, 2270 Type IV, Pro-Street Tranni, WagensWest Narrowed Beam, Disc Brakes, 17" Fuchs, Air-Conditioning. More Later......

Re: 67 Savannah Bus
It's easy, especially if you already have them on the DKK blogsite. Just copy the picture's url from the blogsite. Then come here and click the button. Paste the url into the box that pops up and you'll get something like the text in green below:SavannahVW wrote:I'll get some pictures up as soon as I can figure out how to post them on this site.

Re: 67 Savannah Bus
Thanks Fluxcap. How did you copy the picture from the DKK site? I've tried several ways and can't get the url to load in the box on this site?

Re: 67 Savannah Bus
Yeah, the box can be tricky sometimes. It pops up in weird places and sometimes has crap on top of it. You don't really have to use the image button.
you can manually just type the [img] brackets (the end bracket has a "/" in it (see code below)) and paste the url inbetween the img tags
will give you this

just manually type"[img][/img]" and paste the url in-between those tags WITH ABSOLUTELY NO SPACES.

Re: 67 Savannah Bus
Got most of the Watson's wiring kit installed today (Sat). It's a nice kit and I recommend purchasing the bus extra length additional wire ($50) You suck up a bunch of wire pulling through the frame and various other knook and crannies. Plan to get all the dash wiring done on Sunday including a bunch of guages, turn sig/headlights, and interior light switch pod.

Re: 67 Savannah Bus
Thanks guys. Trying to get her ready for Bulli Brigade and Bug Jam in November. Lots to do and time running out when you have to work at a "real" job. Honestly, I'm not looking for any trophies. Just hope it comes out nice and people like some of the decisions I've made.

Re: 67 Savannah Bus
I'm trying to do this right. I've been collecting parts for over 10 years. The overall design has changed a few times but now it's time to finish her up. We'll post some more pictures as soon as there is more to see. Right now it's just the boring wiring stuff

Bus Updates:
Wiring Completed, AC Condenser & Fuel Pump installed. Headlights, AC Hoses, Front Bumper, Taillights going on Sunday. Colors for the interior have been selected. Also found I guy here in Savannah who is excellent at building headers. We'll take the entire bus over to him when he's ready for it.

Re: 67 Savannah Bus
Thanks 63Buggin. I got the headlights installed tonight. They are so bitchin with the Rossi design and Angle Eyes Headlamps. They should look pretty special in the running light mode and super bright in driving mode. Also installed some hidden additional driving lights that are located just below the front bumper but not below my scrubbers. They are only 2" round. Can't wait to see what they look like when I can power up everything. Selected the hardwood flooring for the rear area. Next project is the dual battery hookup and relocation. Also need to make the rear seating bracket. Making good progress.......

Re: 67 Savannah Bus
Thanks for posting the pictures Scott. Maybe I can figure out how to do it at some point? Since those pics were taken we've installed a bunch of stuff. Safaris front and back are in. Front door window frames/rubber, hidden antenna. Going in this weekend: gas tank, last engine re install, fuel lines, front door windows, wood floor cargo area, dual batteries, AC completion. Waiting on the interior guy to install the material we selected around the popout windows before I can finish all the windows. I'll send you some new pics after this weekends installs. You need to come down here and pitch in slacker......just kiddin'

I feel like a slacker!, lol i want to help out.. maybe i can get down for a day or so and knock some stuff out.. Will work on it...
Re: 67 Savannah Bus
Yankin your chain. Not sure there is that much you could do that would warrant the gas/trip from Atlanta. I'm getting close to sending over to Tracy to build the header. Then, over to Tom for the custom interior pieces. I hope to be on the road after that. I'll send you some updates after this weekend's builds.
