Steering Box Adjustments Empty Steering Box Adjustments

Post by rpm750 Sun Nov 23, 2008 9:49 am

I have tightened the big screw on the Steering Box, to eliminate the play in the steering wheel. Now I have the same play its just real tight. I ran the adjuster in not out.

I'm not talking about the one on the top, this is the one with the big lock nut and socket.

Everything is new, except the box. All my tie rods and ball joints are new. Yeah it lowered and narrowed. This thing is fine except for the play in the wheel. About 2" each side.

I guess the box could be worn so bad that any adjustment wouldn't fix it?
