Play in steering
Now that I've been driving her daily I've noticed that the bus has about 15 degrees of play in the steering. I doesn't bother me, I learned to drive on a Dodge van that was much worse. My question is; can this be fixed? If so, how? Is it a symptom of a more serious problem? Or should I just be happy it's not any worse?
Re: Play in steering
Jack it up and get under there while someone quickly rocks the steering wheel back and forth, the freeplay should become apparent using this method. My guess is probably the drag link.

Or the center pin or the box could use adjustment.

Re: Play in steering
I finally got around to checking this and it looks like that's exactly where the play is.71_georgia_beetle wrote:I had some play and it was a crack in the rubber damper.
