I knew people used Kickstarter for music or movie projects, but out of curiosity, I did a search for "volkswagen". This guy actually raised $2k for his restoration.

I never heard of such a thing. Pretty cool. Or you could do like Don Hall and just have your car stolen and a great bunch of guys might build you another. hahahahaha
