Re: '67 Beetle "Judy"
Next project is to take out that battery tray that I just screwed in and weld it in correctly. Then on to tackle the heater channels.
Re: '67 Beetle "Judy"
Now would also be a good time to swap out that rusty brake line......
The welding looks good, you'd never know that you're a beginner, good job!

Re: '67 Beetle "Judy"
Pulled out the battery tray that I had just screwed in and welded it in right. Took half a day to get it pounded into the right shape and welded in. Had to make a few other patches to fix holes in the pans.
Took the motor out and flipped the pan up on it's side to finish welding the underside. While it was up on its side I went ahead and put a coat of Rustoleam on the underside. I'm gonna pick us some Duplicolor Bedliner tomorrow and put that on before I set her back upside right.

Re: '67 Beetle "Judy"
Found out last night that my beam has a slight curve to it. It's bent in about 1/2" on the drivers side. I'm gonna try to just live with it for now. If it causes me problems later I'll see it anybody here has a stock beam for a '67 that they'll let go for cheap.

Re: '67 Beetle "Judy"
Priced sheet metal on the way home from work then realized that I had a small supply at home so I repaired the luggage tray.

Re: '67 Beetle "Judy"
Talked the guy at Home Depot into color matching a quart of Rustoleum to match 45 year old faded Zenith Blue.
Sprayed the two donor doors.
Not a perfect match but close enough. I may add some faux-tina effects to the doors just so the blend in a little better until I can afford to get a full paint job.

Re: '67 Beetle "Judy"
Picked up Judy's new heater channel and got to work cleaning off all the body sealant. Hopefully this weekend I'll be welding it in and putting the body back on the pan.
