For those who might be interested, Vw finally pulled the curtain on the new design on Monday. Much improved I think . The GTI turbo and the panoramic roof are nice options.

AJC had a write up in the business pages yesterday too- had comparison pics of and 'original' 67, original NB, and a white version of the next phase.
The 'original' 67 had Euro blades, and porsche rims (dumbasses Rolling Eyes )
New roofline helps the lines alot.

It's definatley better than the '98 New Beetle. Much closer to the original at least as far as the lines go.
I still have a problem with calling a front-engined, front wheel-drive, inline 4 water-cooled car a Beetle.
