Lowering the REAR of a fat chick...
I know on a fat chick supers, the rear usually lower themselves, but I have already dropped the front like 4+ inches and now need to get another 2 or so out of the rear, (I'm thinkin' 2 outters)...
OK, I have searched and watched the videos on U-tube, but I cannot for the life of me get the upper back bolt out of my rear double spring plates on the rear end.
I was attempting to disconnect the springplates from the rear swing arm.
I got all the nuts and bolts out, jut cannot get this one to work out around the radius of the swing arm.
I have twisted, lowered, and pushed with a floor jack.
How in the hades do I get this little pain out. The Nuts are facing outwards toward the wheel.
The lower back bolt was also a pain, but I got it out.
Bug is a true 1302, and was a poor man's package with the 1300DP and the IRS trannie. Non - US spec.
Any way any ideas?
Also, when I put this back together, should I put the bolts facing out toward the tire with the nuts facing inner?
I am thinking that I'll have to grind off part of the head.
Thanks,
KC

If you want two inches in the back then two clicks will be too much.....try just one

Any advice on the rear spring plates?
I am planning on cutting the head off the offending bolts, (2 to 4 of them) and getting new grade 8 hardware...
Any other choices that I am missing?
Thanks,
KC

I recently lowered the rear of my 71 one click, but it was a single spring plate not the double style.

The bolts will come out.you just have to turn the heads the right way and pry them a little.sometimes you can take a center punch and knock them through.it just takes a little time.and they should go back in the same way.good luck with it.

x's 2 on the center punch, just jack it up a bit to relive some pressure and hammer away, should work.
