Would you Dyno Your VW?
Dyno Day on March 12th your thoughts?
We want to hear from you guys about this event.
In 2010 it was moved to Warner Robins and we had a low number of participants at the event. We want to know, if this is something that you guys want to participate in or just plan something else for that evening in town.
We don't want to spend the money for the place and then not have anyone show up to Dyno their VW. We could roll that money over into the show on Sunday instead.
Currently, we don't have anyone signed up for the event.
Please give us your thoughts.
----------------------------
Dyno Day held at Reeves RPM in Warner Robins
- hours 10-3
- $20 for 2 pulls
- Air and watercooled VWs

Re: Dyno Day on March 12th your thoughts?
Yes I would. But it would be nice if they would hook up the Air Fuel meeter to let you see what is happening. I know this is not a tuning session but just the HO and TQ #s are not much use if you cant see how the engine is doing at a given point. I learned more in 2 pulls at Jakes than in all the ones at a DD event. I know the HP and TQ are the nragging rites things but A/F is just usefull.

Re: Dyno Day on March 12th your thoughts?
Agree with out aft its nothing.why not go back to allspeed they had a good turnout?
Re: Dyno Day on March 12th your thoughts?
Well I will have to ask if they have the Air Fuel Meter.
As for Allspeed, that was all really the BKC deal and from what I heard the last time they did it there, the owner wasn't all that pleased because the VWs didn't come back throughout the year to spend money with them, I guess. The other thing was it was a 2 hour drive from the track and we wanted to get something closer.

Re: Dyno Day on March 12th your thoughts?
I wouldn't dyno any of mine currently but I still enjoy checking out other peoples cars on the dyno,
Re: Dyno Day on March 12th your thoughts?
I'd prolly do it if i finished my other motor in time. if not, then i prolly wouldn't as my current motor leaks oil like hell, lol

if you guys need any legwork done around Warner Robins let me know. I live here and I have a pretty flexible work schedule. Depending on my cases, I'm usually done with work by noon most days.

I'm with Bryce as far as putting my own car on the rollers, I don't really care. But I do enjoy watching the pulls and hearing the results. But, only the big engines.

Re: Dyno Day on March 12th your thoughts?
Thanks for the comments guys! We just don't want to have the event and people come to watch if there is nothing to Dyno. That would be pretty lame for anyone, nonetheless our money for that would still have to be paid instead of putting it into something else that would be productive.
We already have the Dyno lined up for the 12th, and Raymond is looking into the cruise in that afternoon too.

Kathy...we are around a month out and no one has signed up, and you had poor attendance last year, i would invest that money somewhere else. give a week deadline to see if any interest...if not, pull the plug!

That is exactly what we were thinking too.vwtattooed wrote:Kathy...we are around a month out and no one has signed up, and you had poor attendance last year, i would invest that money somewhere else. give a week deadline to see if any interest...if not, pull the plug!
Maybe the Dyno Thing has been played out to long? Who knows, but just don't want to waste our money and your time, especially if no one really wants to do it.
Re: Dyno Day on March 12th your thoughts?
Yup ! thats why we (BKC) decided to not have any for awhile... got to being the same cars.. and if you didnt make changes.. no need to Dyno !
Re: Dyno Day on March 12th your thoughts?
I'm curious to see what my car/s will do but I'm also too cheap to find out. Throw the $ in the show is my vote.

One thing about this place is that they video the run and make you a copy right there before you leave. Also, they will allow you to run your car on the Dyno too.

oh wow, i didn't even know that there are places that don't let you run your own car. If i was gonna have my motor blow out on the dyno, I'd be damn sure to be the one to do it
