Blurple - 1964 Beetle
The car changed owners. However, it is staying within the Aircooled Addicts club. Those already familiar with the car will continue to see it.
The car was not for sale and I was not looking to buy. It just kind of happened.

Think the last time I saw that car move under its own power was Helen 2008.

Re: Blurple - 1964 Beetle
I drove Blurple to the tag office today to get it registered and then to lunch at Sonic with my son. As I was driving and came to a stop at a light the alarm siren mount broke and I was dragging it by the wire under the car. It looks like I'll be ordering a replacement siren.
I added some items to the car today:
- Front and rear seat belts.
- Replaced the Clarion head unit and crossover with an Alpine and gave Blurple and iPod of her own.
- Installed a steering column sleeve gauge mount that I bought for the bagged bug from Air Kewld and never used it. I want to put an oil pressure gauge and I don't know what else.
Soon to be adding parts I purchased new for the bagged bug:
- Lighter adapter to charge GPS and iPhone.
- Alpine 6x9s to replace the Clarion in the rear
- Alpine 10" Sub - replacing the 10" Kicker
- Alpine component 5.5" speakers to replace the door speakers.
I'll be selling all of the audio stuff I am taking out soon in order to fund a couple of Alpine amps to replace the Kicker and Clarion amp that is is the car. 100% Alpine.
Blurple's own iPod
The new Apline head unit. To cover the slot where the crossover was, I'm going to have a plate made up that says "Blurple" on it. Lighter adapter is going to the left center of the head unit.
The gauge mount from Air Kewld replaces the original column clamp.
I need to figure out how to mount this thing.

Re: Blurple - 1964 Beetle
I'm going to be replacing the front tires on Blurple. It currently has 135R15. They are soft sided and handle poorly around corners. I'm looking for something that will give me better handling and steering. California Import Parts is selling some 165/50R15's that I am thinking about getting.
