I should have paid more attention to the Don't open at work warning. I'm sitting on the front row of a training class and there it was for everyone to see....

I gotta love that shortie bus- it completely fits on a 2 wheel tow- dolly! :Rockit:
....and that 'bikini' topped buggy? Thats some well sculpted fiberglass baby!
Can you find pasties that large?

Re: Cool and strange VW's
I had high hopes for the shorty. Was worried the whole trip home that the man was going to pull me over and say uh-uh! A guy south of Atl listed it for $35, he got a ticket for junk car in yard and whoever would pay the fine could have the bus. 59 walk thru (well it was at some point!) Hoped to paint it yellow and use it for the kids to take to school (short bus special they are) but when I got it home the roof came off by hand!!!! Oh well he went on to help some relatives of his......
Re: Cool and strange VW's
Sorry to hear about its early departure. I would love to get one as a work/play toy for myself.

Re: Cool and strange VW's
I thought this was pretty cool....
[quote="fukengruvenoval"]
I made it from a '78 I parted out. The rear corners were rotten. I used aftermarket metal and welded it in, then found an oil based house paint that was close to sage and sprayed it.
When you open the engine lid there is a large plywood box that holds my subwoofer.. The TV is a 40" - any larger would hit the hinges from the gate.
What do you think?

Re: Cool and strange VW's
That is Sweet! Now you need a beetle front clip as an easy chair!!! I started one a few years back but it was the side of a bus (sage green 78 westy). Ended up selling it to a Church in Al to use for puppet shows.
