My new "non VW" project

Just got a 1947 CJ2A Willys.
It is in pretty good shape has been sitting in a shed for a while and has a lower rod knock (#3 or #4).
Not bad, and I still get 5-7 psi when the oil is hot at idle, just want to "nip it in the bud".
I'll get the photos off my phone tomorrow.
Any one here have any L-head experience?
