Removing Axles from Trans
Before I do something difficult to undo, I thought I'd better ask. I've checked Muir's book and my trusty VW shop manual and I'm still not clear on which nuts to remove. To remove the axles from the trans, do I need to remove the 8 nuts circled in blue? I removed the 6 nuts circled in yellow which gave some in/out play to the axle but it would not come out. I didn't want to take apart anything I didn't have to and/or have the diff fall out on the floor. Thanks!

Remove the yellow ones and the axle tube will come off....if you want to remove the axle you have to remove the tubes then the circlip that holds the axle in the tranny
