YU Buggin 2011 poll

I am in need of assistance from you guys...i want opinions about the show.would you all like to have two seperate events, early in the year Friday Night at the track,later in the year YU Buggin. would you rather have it like this years show and make it a whole weekend event? i am trying to decide this so we can set dates with the track. i have spoken with Ted at AMS and they see the potential in our show and want to help us build this into an EVENT,such as the Classic in California that is featured in Hot VW's this month. i am also trying to get a dealership involved, i have spoken with the general manager of Gunther VW, soon to be opened in Buford. i have also been in contact with Gossett VW. Both are showing some interest,but Gunther can't say till after the first of the year, they are focused on just getting the store open right now! lol! this show is for our Dub community as a whole and i want some input from everyone....so lets hear it. thanks

I think we'd get the best turnout doing it like it was this year, one weekend. I think doing them together would be easier to draw out of towners since they could make a weekend of it. If we make it two separate one day events, people would be less likely to come from far away just for a one day event, and even less likely to do it twice.

Also, been meaning to post this in the other thread where we were discussing possible dates. Last weekend at CYW, I got a flyer for "SummerJam" which is being held in Knoxville. They are doing that show May 21-22, so mark that as another show we'd have to compete with in May on top of the other May shows.

I really loved the way it was this year so my vote would be to keep it that way. I think it was a great show with a great turnout so why change it

this year rocked i think the track an camping are an awsome combo that will help draw people in

this year was set up really well. the only bad thing that happened was it poured on us on the way home. and i didnt have wipers. it was interesting and fun trying to get home. lol.

for spectators i thought it was weird having everyone go cruise the track in the middle of the show.
Made it a good time to leave.

maybe do that 1st thing or the end of the day instead.

thanks for the feedback everyone. we will do a weekend event as it was this year! this year the track ride was a left-over from Friday night and we had to work around their schedule, this year will be a set time. we will also have a food vendor this year. we are still learning and growing and with eveyones help and support we will only get better. Bryce, Mike and I talked about June, any input on dates? i don't know every show going on so if you guys can help me out...? we have to pick a date before Labor Day as this will be the last Friday night event. i want to make this a weekend event so would you all want to keep the show on Saturday and have another type event on Sunday or just leave it a 2 day deal? once again..thanks everyone!

Hahaha, me too. I had some rainX on the windshield (thanks gordon ), and it helped, but i still could bearly see. I'm prepared for next year tho. I have both working wipers, and a bottle of rainX

i felt bad for those guys in that silver rat rod truck bug thing. they had no roof, and their fuel pump crapped out a few feet out of the gate. good thing his buddy was following him in a bus, lol.

I like the one two day show. Just look at the problems they had at Renolds getting people to the late show, they wound up canceling it all together. I like the idea of the drive around the track at the beginning or end of the show. I heard some spectators complain about the fact most of the cars left for the cruise.

i need some more feedback from you guys...i was looking to see if there was any interest in an event on Sunday the 5th? ideas about a poker run or just a simple cruise had been tossed around. i spoke with Luis at Gunther VW today and we discussed perhaps ending the cruise at the dealership? if this is something everyone is interested in, we need to work out the details so he can get it approved. i think this would be a nice way to wrap up the YU Buggin weekend.....

I think a cruise would be fun.
