Nice work. That looks friggin sweet. do you think you can build me a cage like that for my buggy? that looks killer :Rockit:
One thing tho. those steering shafts seem to be at such an extreme angle. or is that just a funny angle of the pic?

Re: The Sandpiper
X2 I don't see how that can work without binding.Bugman114 wrote:

Re: The Sandpiper
In that pic it was binding. Since then he had the R&P mount cut down to get better angles on the U joints and get it centered up on the beam.
Re: The Sandpiper
Thanks Mike.......
In that picture everything was just a mock up to see how everything would fit.......
Since then there have been a couple of changes made to get everything to work correctly......
Except for the front beams and rear torsion housing everything was made in our shop......
As far as building you a cage...we can do it-but we need to know what you want and get a few measurement
to get things to fit right.......
We'll get together through PM's if you want and discuss it if you like.........

Re: The Sandpiper
I think he looks lost because it looks as if the buggy doesn't know which way it wants to go

To fill in this hole under the dash.......

Re: The Sandpiper
Well these big gaps have been filled in......
[img][/img]
[img][/img]
[img][/img]
And this peice has been installed.....
[img][/img]
[img][/img]
[img][/img]
Just a couple more days and at least the body will be ready for primer.......
I've got a little more glassing to do and a few small places to finish up......
I'm keeping my fingers crossed to have it done and in primer by Sunday.......

Re: The Sandpiper
Over the last couple weeks we've gotten pretty much all the welding done on the frame......
(except for building the rear engine cage for it)
Got a place to mount the battery...
Got a frame work for mounting the gas tank....
Had to remove some things and relocate others.....
And a few days ago I (finally) got the frame painted.
Hopefully the body will be painted by the end of next week....

Re: The Sandpiper
Is that primer or the silver base coat? Hard to tell in the pic, but still looks very nice. Can't wait to see it tomorrow.

Re: The Sandpiper
Why is everything you do simply amazing? . I wish i could weld good enough to do half of the stuff you do . I'm almost sad to have traded my dune buggy away, just so i could have had you make a cage for it, hahaha
