Clutch Chatter
My turn for some Clutch Chatter!
I am having my first issue with the clutch on the bus.
If I am sitting in neutral I can hear a slight vibration. When I press in the clutch slightly I can feel it. If I press it in all the way it seems to go away and it goes into gear fine? Does this sound like an adjustment issue? I havent tried anything yet, I got under there this evening just to look around and make sure the cable was not frayed or anything....
Can I blame it on the wife since I let her drive it on Saturday?

Re: Clutch Chatter
hard to tell - could be a number of things.
I would def try tightening it 1st. If that doesnt work you'll have to pull the engine and see whts going on. Sounds like it could be the throwout bearing or pressure plate though.

Re: Clutch Chatter
I would guess TO bearing but it would make noise when the clutch is pushed not when it's in neutral with your foot off. The pressure plate could be warped or the clutch disc could be wearing thin. Hard to tell.

Re: Clutch Chatter
I had the same symptoms as you, but mine got increasingly harder to get into gear. Turned out that one of the clips on the TO bearing had broken. Also check and make sure your Bowden tube is not coming loose.

Re: Clutch Chatter
Yea...forgot about the bowden tube. Sometimes they break and lose some of their bend.
