Stevenson Bug Blast June 11,12,13
Anyone here go to this? I have been a couple of times. Lots of rail buggies, but a good camp out. Some of the guys get a little loud at night if you are an early to bed type of person.

Yeah, especially in the heat. Its usually hot as hell. Most of the shaded camping areas are gone. I think they come in a week early and set up. My family likes to go just to camp, fish, and swim.

I won't be back to this show! The partying was way too loud and long. (i'm always up for a good party, but this was too much) The burn-out contest was totally out of control and unsafe. The fish stunk and the rail buggies drove anywhere they wanted to; even doing wheelies in areas where there were kids. This used to be a good show, but the new organizers let it get out of hand.

Hate you had a bad time. Just wanted to let you know we are aware of the things you posted and wanted to let everyone know that we have been working on these issues. The people you were talking about that played music all night were not part of our show and it will not happen again. There will be a 12:00 quiet time set. You will be asked one time to quiet down then your out . The burnout area fence will be wider at the end of the road to keep the crowd safer. I had a talk with the guy that did the wheelie in the rail buggy you were talking about as soon as he did it. He didnt do it again. As far as the dead fish.......well its a lake . Its going to be something that may or not be there. You can go to any body of water of that size and you will find one.As far as the new organizers I have been doing this show all but the first two years. We work all year long promoting this show and putting it together.Thats a lot of time money and hard work to put this show on and we dont want anyone to go away unhappy.Hope this helps. I would be happy to talk to anyone about these or any other issues they may have. My personal number is 423-718-7911. Thank you for your concern.

Re: Stevenson Bug Blast June 11,12,13
Thanks a million Ted. While I have never been to the show, I was a little discouraged by several written and verbal comments. It speaks volumes by you stepping up and addressing the issues. I hope you guys have a great show this year and all is well and safe.

Scott, thank all of you for your support . And thank you for the kind words. It just gets back to the old saying, ''a few bad apples make the whole bunch look bad''

Re: Stevenson Bug Blast June 11,12,13
Went to the show, and it appears a lot of people are goint to it anymore. I know its in Alabama and all, but the "usual" crowd with all the rail buggies just arent friendly people. Probably our last year to go also. Very few show cars. And no fault to the show, but it is MISERABLE hot.

Got the same vibe...
Went to town to see the parade, that was nice.
The Show was just OK.
Kids were bored, they expected a mini Bug a paluza.
(I sorta did to....)
I went for parts and missed a set of '70 front seats by just a few minutes.
Of the like 5 parts vendors there, it was slim pickens...
Probably will not be back next year.
I hope the Atlanta show will have some activities for the Kids at it.
I am going to try to make it to the ATL show.

Re: Stevenson Bug Blast June 11,12,13
After all the negative comments about this show, (not just on here, but from a variety of sources) we decide to pass this one by. From the reports, it appears we made the right decision. It looks like this show needs some immediate re-organizing or it will soon be gone for good. Hate to see this kind of thing happen, especially around our neck of the country as shows are few and far between in the Southeast.
