Cars And Coffee - ATL - We need to crash this event!!

Anyone who is a real "car freak" knows about the almost legendary "Cars and Coffee" events held in California. Well, they are now having them in Atlanta! This is a big, free car show that attracts a lot of folks and a lot of different kinds of cars. Anything from Lamborghini's and Maseratis, to Porsche's and BMW's. Over 50 classes for the show.

I think that it would be great if the G.A.S. "crashed" the party one weekend. Let's show the car fans of Atlanta how big the VW scene is.

3rd Sundays April - December at the Avenue East Cobb. It seems that it is an early morning event, around 9am is what they say the peak time is.

What do you think?

WoW this sounds real kool well thanks for this heads up. It looks like this months 3rd Sunday is the May 16. So G.A.S. Is in for this cruise in. Let's see if we can get all the clubs to come on out in there club shirts and if you don't have club shirts wear a G.A.S. Or GeorgiaDubs Tee shirt. Let's real invade this this thing the right way guys. We need to come up with a time and spot so we can really roll in together Dub style. So who's in? Any clubs feel like riding out early morning for this one

Dude I don't think I can keep up with anyone on the highway lol!!! Im to scared to do more than 55mph in the Buggy on the highway. That thing is to lite for the highways. But I'm in for this crusie

Oh come on Malik......you haven't ridden in the buggy till you hit 75-80 MPH on the highway.

I hit thoese speeds on the roads around the way. But haven't got it up past 55-60 on the highway yet still getting the feel of it. Boy this thing is so lite but fun.

I would like to hit this event as well. I need to rat up the bus real good for this one.

I'm in for this one since Tim says I haven't cruised yet.

If all my parts come in I'm down I currently side lined.

I've been trying to come up with an address for the Avenue east Cobb. If someone knows it post it so everyone can fine it easy. I'm going to try and go up there to look at a spot we can all meet and roll in together as one big family "Georgia Dubs/G.A.S." and show them hotrod guys Dubs rule.

My wife has a problem with me going on this one cause I would miss church. I tried to tell her going to these functions is a HOLY experience.

I'm trying to get some info on the location of this months event. But stay tune guys I think if we show up real deep we'll be a smash at the next cars & coffee

I told a friend of mine about my posting here calling for a VW "crashing" of the event. He attended one of the original events in California and here is what he had to say:

Yeah, that whole "crash the party" can really f**k up an event. The one I went to in California was "crashed" by a bunch of S2000 owners, who brought their relatively stock S2000's and took up a bunch of space, so that a lot of iron that was actually interesting got turned away. The organizers, such as there were, were rightly pissed.

I'm no expert, but having been to one and having seen pics from others: If it ain't rare/ interesting AND nice, stay home. Projects need not apply.

That said, there were almost as many interesting cars in the parking garage next to the event.

Sorry if I'm sounding like a dick, I'm just real excited for this to be happening in the ATL, and would hate to see it turn sour by bad behavior by one group or another. Just saying

So, nobody wants the VW crowd to get a bad "rep", that wasn't my idea when I suggested this. Maybe when everyone gets there they can park in a corner or on the side of the parking lot, away from the main action so as not to disrupt the flow of the event. I'm sure that a ton of folks will still come by and look at all of the bad-ass VW's that show up but no one will be upset that the little cars "hogged" too much real estate. What do you guys think?

Yeah, some of our "Project" cars might not be appreciated, there usually are finished cars (nicely detailed) parked at the event

i agree theres probably goin to be some kit cars that show up there any way and alot of your kit cars these days like the kit car jaguar at bap they are sittin on volkswagen pans so some people might actualy be happy to see abunch of old volkswagens there specialy when some of the orignal volkswagens show up

Guys, can you post what time you think this will go onto on a Sunday as mornings till lunchtime I'm wrapped up teaching at Parkwood Farms but would love to join the cruise if its in the afternoon!

Piss on em'. We have enough events. We should find out the location and have an impromptu show across the street.
