Usually the panels are where the windows normally go, like this one:

Re: Who are you? Put a name with a face.
Welcome Lou! All you need to do to post pictures, is get them on the internet on a site like photobucket (or anything similar) and then use the picture button (it looks like a small picture, with a white frame) on the tool bar here and paste a link in the small box that will pop up.

I'm glad he finally was able to grow a little and reach the pedals.

Hi,
I am Pete McFarlane of Stockbridge & Tybee Isl, GA. I have been buggin since 2005 when I got got "Gracie" a 74 standard, was off white-now yellow. It originated from Santa Monica, Calif. In 2008 I found "George" a 75 Vert, red, between Lula and Helen, GA. It began its life in Kentucky to Tenn to NC and then GA.
About 2 yrs ago I found "Max" a 71 Microbus w/o engine on Wilmington Isl, GA. Max was military service person import from Manheim to New Port News, VA. Still has the KPH speedo etc. Finally this last Dec "Max" got a set of nuts and parts to make him run. I am in the process of restoring Max to be my beach buggy.
My wife, Patti, says "we boys have too many toys!!" Just like too many guns and too many rods & reels!! Never!!
Oh, yes for those youngin' out there probably don't remember, but hopefully us old f--ts do remember the "The Burns's" George & Gracie!!
Thanx and be safe out there!
PS: Forgot to say that in 1970 I traded my 1968 Plym Cuda, fastback for a 70 VW Squareback, red. The wife at that time said it was a good move, gas was going up. Me, wife and 3 kids made 3 moves in it. So I assume I was buggin in 1970!!!!!!
Below are photos of my bevy of beauties:
Pete & Patti - yes that is Moe, Larry & Curley (The 3 Stooges) in the background photo!! I grew up with them.
"Gracie" before and after
"Gracie" after - it has bumpers and hubs now. Still working on the interior!
"George"
"Max"
"Maxine" - in the process of being parted

Re: Who are you? Put a name with a face.
My name is Steve. I work in television production and play the bass. I got my first Beetle when I was 15 and was instantly in love. I took a significant break from the Beetle after a bad wreck. I first got into the idea of VW because of my Grandfather who drove them his entire life. After his recent passing I ended up with his 72 standard and I can feel the VW world pulling me back in (insert Godfather quote here). I'm looking forward to all that I'll learn and all the amazing people I'm sure to meet.

Hi Folks!! New guy here.
Hi. My name is Jamie. I live in Newnan, GA and have been working to restore a 1967 Beetle for about 4 years (mostly in the last two).
It's been a great adventure and I hope to have it complete this fall to start hitting the show circuit with it in the Spring.
It's a 1967 restored off the pan with every nut and bolt gone through. I tried for a vintage look while including modern conveniences. The color is half between Zenith blue and Wedgewood blue (a Triumph color from the 60s).
I've also included a 2110 turbo engine for the fun of it!! You only live once. It's all under-hood design using a Bernie B. fan shroud and Holley carb.
I've loved VWs since my sister's boyfriend let me work on his when I was 12 years old. I've had a few and always wanted to restore a '67 vert.

Welcome to the site. Don't think I've seen you around Newnan yet, but I hope to soon. That is a sharp looking car! I live in the Roscoe Rd/Macedonia part of town. If you ever see a blue/white ragtop bug or burgundy and creme bus, feel free to say hi.

Thanks. I hope to be out there participating soon. So far just an observer. Still have the top and interior to install. Should be going by Christmas. I try not to be too optimistic.
