Name your ride....
I know this topic has been done to death in many forums, but I'm bored at work and I can't look at internet porn. What is the name or your Vdub and what is the story behind it?
As is clearly apparent, my bus is named the Treehive (the Hive for short). The PO's 5 year old son gave her the name, and the PO (who was a folk singer/songwriter) incorporated "Treehive" into several family folk songs he wrote for the family to sing around the campfire. I promised that after I bought the bus, the name would live on.
Sometimes I refer to her as God D**M stupid mother F***ing piece of f***ing s**t......but that is just my loving pet name for her when I am stuck on the side of 985 at 10 pm

Big Bird
Named by my two year old son. When I brought her home he said "it's Big Bird" so it stuck.

Jana.
the etruscan/roman goddess of secrets, mysteries, and hidden things. a reference to my bug not actually being a 63, but a 60-ish vdub. the engine is a 63, the front end is a pre-60, rear apron is a post-68, tranny crossmember is from a post-62.
and has a 'for sale' sign randomly welded into the body and a license plate to match. when i brought it home there was a spoon underneath the seat . a screw was substituted for the idle jet in the carb and it still ran. a spark plug was in cylinder 4 sideways. clutch arm was on backwards.
its just a homemade contraption.

Re: Name your ride....
The previous owner didn't tell me if my '67 camper had a name so I decided on "Ursula" after this fiesty old German woman that yard sales with my mother-in-law. She's a lttle cranky sometimes but still looks good for her age. Ursula means "little bear" and it can be a little bear sometimes.
My HiTop was named "Wolfy" by the P.O. so I believe it's tradition to keep the same name when it changes hands. And I don't mind the name at all. It's currently under wraps 'til I can start back to working on it.
And the Bus/Firetruck I'm working on is called the "West Falia Fire & Grill". It was originally a rusty, beat-to-hell '78 Westy that's being made to look like a little firetruck. It has a slide-out grill in the side for cooking burgers and brats so the name kinda fits. I'll get some pics on here soon.

My 93 euro is Cricket, after 170k she makes sounds like crickets inside when driving.
68 DC is Bender after one of my favorite animated robots. He is a Bender JU-68T2 model.
The wifes NB is Baby.
And no name yet for the 58, Homey has popped up a few times as well as homely, so will wait and see what it has to say.

Re: Name your ride....
Billie and I have been kicking around the idea of calling my flat black '74 water bug "Vocho Negro" (Black VW) but neither of us wants to offend minorieties who don't understand Spanish.

"Oh Bugga"
I love the Pirates of the Caribbean movies and the way Jack Sparrow says "Oh Bugga". Usually when he's faced with a jam of sorts. Thats how the build of this '66 went, it was one thing after another. And still is!
