He probably did it just because of all the people on the samba that holler fire when they see a filter in the engine compartment.

This one made me laugh. First off, it's insanely high for a fan shroud, and secondly the ad says "worked when removed"??? Seen that plenty of times for motors, electrical items, transmissions, but never seen it for a fanshroud. "No really man, air blows through it just fine!"
