I got the front cut off today.



Got the new front up and started fitting it.



Almost their, the hood already lines up better than it ever has.

Ok thanks I got to find something easier than photo bucket it gives me fits. I had planed to work on it more today but I had to get metal taken out of my eye.

Yea it will be the doctor had to drill it out. I got some goggles today no more safety glasses cutting metal.
I still have a lot of trimming to do on the front end.

Got all the jigs on to hold everything in place

Got the gas tank jig in place

Cut threw the over lap and clamped as I went

Pulled it off and cleaned up the edges

Painted some POR on the under side

I tacked it fitted the hood and fenders looked good so I started welding it up. I still need more time to finish it up

Thanks guys it was not as bad as I thought it would be to do just time and a lot of parts on and off. Still need to clean up the welds again and get any spots that have been missed. Now I wondering if I should re-clock the Inspection opening above the steering box.

That inspection plate change was a mid year 1964 change. Now is definitely the time to change it if you think it'll bother you.

I'm not that much of a purists, so I'd let it ride and let the spare tire hide it as is, lol. Plus, I don't really like welding too much.

But, if you're already going through the big job of a front clip replacement, you obviously aren't scared of a little extra welding, may as well go all in!

I was happy to see my pics are still here. Today I got the over rider holes welded up and the trunk seal retainer welded in like I need to get some better picks

Over the weekend I got my front disc brake with drop spendles installed.

What disc brakes did you go with? Looks like it's about time for some driving.

I got the Empi set with drop spindles. Had to redo my king pins again so I also bought the reamer. Now I have a set of drop spindles for drums on the shelf . I still have more work before I'm back on the road . Need to get my freeway flyer in I got from Benco

Cool....I used the same set on Gordon's car but haven't finished the rest of the car so no clue how well they work. Do you want to sell the drum drop spindles? I may have someone interested

Sure I'll sell them I was going to put a bunch of stuff on here when I'm done . I'd rather see someone using them I think their empi ? On the car when I got it. What master cylinder did you use with the disc brakes I got one from a 67

Yeah I just used a 67 and later master cylinder....are the spindles built with carriers or just the spindles?

I put the carriers on the new set . I'd like a set of carriers to put on my stock spindle set. So no they don't.

Got a set of slingers in the mail today with the drum to match on the way. All new brakes and SS hard lines in with steel braided lines to new wheel cylinders. I got my Benco transaxle in with one peace boots . The spring plates I got from Bryce are in so I have notched set if anyone wants to trade for a stock set. I'll try to get some new pics up soon

Are the spring plates just notched or are they extended also?

One piece boots are the only way to go.
