What did you do to your volkswagen today?

Laying final color on my wheel centers. Hoping to get clear done by tonight.

Put my tires on. Yay

Put the motor back in. In the process of installing new wheel cylinders

Played around with some jetting changes today....

Finally made some door panels for Warbird. I like it but I don't think the glue is going to hold up.


Helped Shakey plug some holes in his new '68.

Been working on a new concept for a pop top tent for westies.
Developed and installed a new top.
This one is just a shell, with no windows, but I bought a sewing machine and sewed it up myself.

working on removing my struts..... Un bolt and swing a hammer. Lowering struts soon.

Took a drive over to the baseball field to watch my brother's game and had everybody asking about it when the game was over.

Did more things then I care to mention on my sandrail, but alas, couldn't finish it in time :'c. First year ive been dubless at BAP. At least it'll be done for YUBuggin

Finally welding in my new dash in the 67 Volksrod.

Pulled everything out of the Bus from BAP camping. Vacuumed the gravel and grass, loaded everything back in for the trip to PC.

Pulled couple strings to check the alignment of the wheels. They were all close except the drivers rear. Way out! so I made an adjustment now it's out the same as the passenger side. When you alter the stock German engineering....it's not a perfect world. Adjusted the brakes.

Oil change Thursday morning before leaving for Florida.

Installed my door panels, fixed seats from rocking forward and aft, cleaned up some rust spots, timed engine, changed oil, and still had time to mow the lawn today!

I installed the new EMPI T handle shifter I bought a PC. Works great.

Worked on Crusty, my Squareback- replace the horn, rewired a turn signal- now all of the lights and turn signals work like they're supposed to

I put 40 miles miles on mine today after a week with fighting the tuning (h30/31 Carb working with a 009 distributor). 3 years I've had it and only put 5 miles in that time..... and that was just because I moved 2 1/2 years ago.

I learned a valuable lessen yesterday as well. Never fill up the gas tank and then park facing up an incline. The gurgling noise was insane.

Sounds like your float has become saturated, if you have an old 34 pict 3, look and see if it has a plastic float and replace the one in your h30/31 with it, maybe the needle valve too.

I wish I had another Carb, I'd love to put a 30pict -3 in it. From what I have read, 1500 single port would be better suited. Actually I wouldn't mind putting a vacuum dizzy back on it like stock.
I checked the float with water test and it seems okay. Probably the old gunk on it has sealed it pretty well. needle valve seems to test okay, but I'm thinking of putting the old one back in from the Carb rebuild to see if it does better. Small problem anyway in the larger scheme of stuff the car needs.
