Cool. So with the tool you can remove the drive gear without taking the case back apart? I was not aware of that. I'm off all next week. Maybe I can come over your way next week if it's cool with you.

Yup you just have to remove the distributor, fuel pump and the fuel pump stand to get it out

Thats correct Bryce. I have most of all the specialty tools for the VW's. Eric I work every third day. Just give me a shout and maybe we can hook up and I'll let you use it if you want.

Thanks for helping with the dizzy Eric. (vwovalchild).

Here is a quick video clip of the engine running for the first time. It has been a work in progress for almost 2 years as I have picked up all the pieces and had to modify some to make this thing come together. Ran out of time today, still need to set the timing, do a third adjustment on the valves (just to be safe) and clean up the wiring and fuel lines a little better. I got most of the wires cleaned up after this video and put the rest of the tin on as well.

Specs once again:
1962 40 horse block
83 mm pistons and jugs
Engle 100 cam and performance lifters
Euro 1300DP heads
Rockers off of a 1600DP
Dual 34 webers
Merged header
Single bugpack muffler
