Re: Sily Räbit - The SwallowTale
I picked up a windshield today out of a cabby, seems to be the right size though. just waiting on the seal now
Installed some new front rotors
started on wiring hooked up head light, tailights, wiper,
installed the waterpump, and coolant hoses.
tried on the wheels with rotors and adapters i seem to have about a half inch of poke in the front
two cans of black dye made the carpet look brand new

Re: Sily Räbit - The SwallowTale
Thanks Guys,
hearing the engine actually run is major motivation... I'm ready to drive this wabbit! (but first i'm making myself finish some bodywork on the oval)
i have ordered cv boot kits, shift linkage bushings, and a one piece speedo cable to keep the bay fairly clean... all should be here thursday...
now i still have to tackle the wiring...it needs sorting out really bad...and im still trying to find a repairable early dash so i dont have to swap everything over...(plus i like the look better, early dashes look more olde skool)
basic todo list
bleed brakes
finish wiring
find early dash
2 more adapters and tires
exhaust
rebuild axles
get windshield in

Re: Sily Räbit - The SwallowTale
Im working my tail off trying to get the oval to look decent but this weather isnt helping hard to get primer to go on well at 25 degrees
i have plenty of time to finish the body work, but i also want to have time to drive it and check for problems, still have plenty of time till hooters, so we'll have to wait and see

Re: Sily Räbit - The SwallowTale
A lot of progress today!
received my one piece speedo cable (keepin the bay clean as i can) and some shifter linkage bushing
rebuilt the axles (new boots)
took a little time to bring these home from my uncle's
then i installed the axles
then i drove it (without brakes!! which are next on the list) idle needs some work, and the water was from the flange on the head, one of the bolts broke off in the head, once i get it out there no leaks also it doesnt have an exhuast yet, just manifold and down pipe:roll:
then i gave it a bath
my favorite

Re: Sily Räbit - The SwallowTale
update...
the swallow now has fuel...well, more permanent fuel, as in the tank is in and fuel lines ran...
some progress on the electrical as the car now starts using the key and does not involve a jump wire and screwdriver
turn signals now work aswell as the single wiper...doesnt help the driver a great deal but it does look sweet!
rear running lights are also a go!
im waiting on a rear wheel cylinder and a participant to help bleed the brakes
i also removed the 4 point brace as it was killing my ground clearance...
need the windshield in badly
still have to decide if im going to a cabby dash, if so i need a gauge cluster
pics...

Re: Sily Räbit - The SwallowTale
headlights work after tracking down the relay (thanks Marietta Foreign)
you can also see the single wiper in this one
relocated the coil for a cleaner look ( the whole bay needs cleaning but im more concerned with it running right now)
radiator fan is now hooked up. its looking better i think
