Re: Sily Räbit - The SwallowTale
its been awhile since i've posted, mainly because i haven't made much progress. but i have changed a few things
i picked up the rear wheel adapters i went with 1 1/2" adapters for the rear for that flush look
painted all of the trim black, basically dechromed the car...with the exception of the wheel lips!!!! most of the trim is gloss black, while the grill and bumpers are textured satin black which adds a little bit of contrast.
picked up some gravel gaurds for the rear, and some turn signals for the front.
installed the hood latch and im working on cleaning up the interior now
still havent figured out the brakes quite yet, windshield still needs installing and i need an alternator.
a step backwards, i took the rabbit for a test drive with its new clutch (which i forgot to mention earlier) and actually lost the driver side rear wheel from just not torqueing it down and it burnt off some paint and pushed the rear fender in a little, so eventually i'll have to start back on body work...
to the pics
new look feedback wanted! thanks

the wheels are the whole reason i wanted to build a mk1, when my wheel came off i couldn't find it for bout 5 days... almost gave up on the whole project lol. luckily i found it behind someones house, and now the project proceeds!

Thanks!tito wrote:what a beautiful car! i like it!
well, after waiting all day and 125 bucks later the windshield is now installed, window guy said he is never installing a windshield in a rabbit again! took him over an hour to put it in!
i finally found two more 165-45-15s and they are now on the car with the other einkies
ToDo:
pick up alt wire plug- (which is to be done tomorrow) so i can install and test the alt
exhaust-which will have to be done after its registered
i still need to figure out the brake problem im starting to think its a faulty MC...
deffinately needs a good watersanding and buff, the rest is just small detail stuff and cleaning up the interior which looks terrible at the moment

Re: Sily Räbit - The SwallowTale
well, the rabbit is gone, sad day, but a new car in its place will keep me moving on...the new owner seems as if he will take car of the car, he informed me that it may get a wheel change soon, and later on a possible 16v! Best of luck!
