THING only Meet Up Spring 2016

A Samba member from East Tennessee and I are trying to organize a THING only ( others welcome though) event between ATLANTA and Chattanooga somewhere.
We are open to ideas and suggestions.

Could have a weekend/overnight meetup in Helen, midway between ATL and east TN, access to hotels, restaurants and mountains road to cruise on. Spring might be a little cold for tubing in the river.

I always love a drive to Helen in my Thing!

The Best Western in Helen was the host hotel for our club's Poker Run for many years. They gave us great rates, the rooms are nice, you can walk to downtown, there is plenty of room in the parking lot, and there is a riverside park behind it.

You read my mind, Jon. I was thinking of the same hotel.

I like that idea, how about Saturday April 23? People could book 1 or 2 nights. I will call the hotel and check rates and availability. I will also post on Samba once the date is pretty well set.

As long as it doesn't conflict with Bug-a-Paluza I'll be there!

When we had our Poker Run, we usually stayed two nights. The first evening we ate at the Mexican Restaurant downtown and the second night we would host a cook-out at the hotel.

Just heard from the volksfolks who do Bug a Paluza- their date is scheduled for April 16-17 next year...Now I will call the Hotel in Helen..be back soon..

well...no. I found out I have a vintage trailer rally the weekend I was planning for this.
And the other weekends around it are all booked in Helen.
Maybe we could get some Thing folks to drive up to Bug A Paluza the week before?
I am also planning to go the Toys vw drive in , in Eurharlee Dec 12...
