I'm buying my first 2 bugs tommorrow on the cheap cheap. $500 for both with engines. One is set up Baja style. Picking them out of an old man's pasture.

My 7 y/o son has been on a "I want to build my own car" kick lately. This opportunity popped up so I said what the hell.

I'm a noob, so finding a group here in McDonough to hang out with would be awesome.

Is the meet up this Saturday still happening?

I got them. If I fix them up, I may have a couple of pieces of poo on my hands.

They were in a pasture and are giant rat's nests right now. The 69 Baja has a decent body, but the pan is shot out. The 73 Super Beetle's body is smashed but the pan seems better than the 69.

Going to spend the next couple of days cleaning them out. Then I'll start to take them apart.

I've never done anything like this before, so its going to be YouTube and board posts/questions as I go.

I'm in no hurry, my 7 y/o is the one who wants to build it.

going to be a few minutes (ok probably more than that) late, but we are still coming.  Got the accelerator cable feeling smoother and bumper back on! Bringing my bowling ball too in case we get to cold!

I brought our bowling shoes also!

Good turn out today and met some new guys! I showed off a new club sticker and tried to give everyone that came out one. Even got a couple games of bowling in with Eric, Kelly and Camber. I know Tony was taking pics so maybe he will post some of them up.  

I am going to move next months get together because of Valentine's day so be looking for the date!

I just haven't posted it up but since our regular meet would be on Valentines Day I am going to push it back a week.
