Bring a Donation for the Local Athens Shelter
Don't forget the meeting this Sunday at Loco's at 3 p.m. And while you're out and about...please pick up something on this list (or several somethings) and bring with you for the Athens Area Homeless Shelter. We'll be collecting it and dropping it off to help support their cause there.

a partial list of needs at the shelter
Shelter Needs
Diapers
Our little ones go through diapers so quickly! Right now we’re in need of sizes newborn and 1 diapers and various pull ups sizes.
Black 30 Gallon Trash Bags
With up to 25 people living in the shelter, we go through lots of trash bags!
Restock our Medicine Cabinet
While living in close quarters, it’s always smart to have a fully stocked medicine cabinet! We go through chapstick, pepto bismol, tums, benedryl, neosporin, children’s allergy relief, children’s pain relief, infant pain reliever, and children’s multivitamins pretty quickly.
High Efficiency Laundry Detergent
The Shelter’s laundry detergent supplies run out quickly when washing clothing for six families. Your donation keeps our families clean and comfortable. As we transition to high efficiency washers and dryers we specifically need HE detergent.
Cleaning Supplies
Cleaning an aging facility takes a lot of elbow grease. Donations of lysol wipes, dish-washing detergent, trash bags, bleach, all purpose cleanser, and floor cleanser always meet an immediate need.
Umbrellas for Adults and Kids
In blustery fall and winter weather, keeping dry in Athens is hard work! Help us out by donating umbrellas for our residents and their children.
Baby Wipes
We have lots of little ones right now at the shelter. Help us keep them fresh and clean!
Toiletries
With an average of 20 residents, we’re always in need of shampoo, conditioner, soap, deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and other hygiene items.
