I added engine bay lights. I cut groves in HDLP (high density laminate plastic), drilled 1/4 inch holes and wire in 12, white LED's. 6 on the front and 3 on each side. $6 dollar modification.

The dealer for LED's that I buy from is below. They are 5mm and pre soldered with resistors, 6" leads and heat shrink for 6 bucks. They are in China but stuff gets here in a week.
