76 Westy Tire Size... what size? (AKA-What did you buy.)

When a I bought our 76 Westy it came with 195/75/14 that are "Car Tires" and show cracking and therefore it's time for tires. Not lowered and I want the standard "Hi-Ride". Tire sales are sprouting up.. would love to know the best option here with killing the budget. Thanks in advance.

I am running 185/14 Hankook RA-08s and am quite happy with them.

You can read for days and find out everyone has different ideas.

I went with the Hankooks because they are the stock size and have the proper load rating for a bus. I get blown around on the road a lot less since I got them. My $.02.

did you buy them from Busdepot dot com and have them mounted locally or is there a local dealer that carries them?

I ran 185r14 nexens from tire easy and had them mounted locally.  They have increased in price a bunch since just last year though.

I bought them from Bus Depot and had the local shop mount them.

I was able to source goodyear wranglers from the used tire shop for about 20 a piece. These are the tires the mail trucks use and they replace them every so often regardless of wear. They are LT195/75/R14 M&S tires and I love them.

So my camper is a 67splittie but I am also running Hankook's [195/75/14].
You can get a new set of 4 installed,balanced,fees-n-taxes,etc at Discount Tire for under $300.
