What does your ride weigh?

I went across the scales at my work and I was surprised at what I saw. My '66 "Oh Bugga" only weighed 1620 lbs. That with me out of the car and half a tank of fuel. Wow I thought it would of weighed more. I thought it would have been around 2000 lbs.

Mine weights 1500# even. I took it across the scales at Pull-A-Part, man the people(customers) there were freaking out trying to buy it because they thought i was junking it. the scale said #1540 but I had aboot 40# worth of junk inside. This was with me out and aboot 5 gallons of gas.

As a certified NIST Weights and Measures Technician (don't ask) the NIST Handbook 44 spells out the calibration and strain limitation and sensitivity of a strain gauge (load cell) type platform scale. The scale itself at 30,000 test weight has a tolerance of .012% of the graduated weight and sensitivity of 1% of it's total weight capacity. With that knowledge you can apply it to any scale if you know it's specifications. Most 100,000 scales can measure starting around 100lbs so you guys are pretty close.
