I know this isn't aircooled related, but does anyone know of any websites on how to replace a coolant temp sensor? Can't be that hard, the part was only 8$!

Are you wanting to change the one for the gauge or the one for the ECU/FI? For $8 sounds like the gauge sensor. Both are simple to remove with a deep well socket. Just drain the coolant down some before you remove the either sensor.

BTW check the VWVortex.com site as well.

I would like to help you, but I tore up my left elbow and have a Dr apt on Monday to see how bad I hurt it. May end up in a sling for a while and I drive a Big Rig/flatbed for a living so I am worried about that at the moment.

Have you talked to Tim Baker about a repair? Drew is also into H2O models and knows them well.

I haven't. Today I washed the car and the overheating light would blink for 5-10 seconds and then go on and off. Im worried if it really is over heating or not. All these sensors on the water cooled is confusing. I'll take a look at it tomorrow
