Volkstock #7 Aug 23,24,25 NEW DATES!!!

NEW DATES!!! At the request of our host and hostess we have backed up Volkstock by one week. Hopefully this will better accommodate those who had schedule conflicts.

The 7th Annual VOLKSTOCK weekend is fast approaching. Make your plans now to be there.

We start Friday evening August 23 and continue till Sunday around lunch time. You know the drill.

Soooo, who has a project they want to work on? Don't be shy; it won't happen if you don't speak up. We need to know as early as possible so we can plan the order we will work on the projects and placement in the shop.

I want to be in the front right corner this year. I like that spot.

Can me and the wife come and hang out, lend a hand?

You are certainly invited. Anyone is welcome, but it is best to let us know you are coming so we have enough food. Friday night's dinner is provided as is Saturday night's cookout.

We don't have many projects lined up yet, so feel free put your name on the (short) list if there is something you want to do to your bug.

If you have never made it to any of the Volkstocks in the past, you should try to come to this one. You don't have to stay long if you don't want to. We work on VWs, swim, eat, and tell lies. (maybe drink a beer or two)  Many of us stay the whole weekend, but many more just drop by.

We do all this only 20 - 30 minutes down 316 from Athens.

Actually I'll probably be outside for most of it this year. I think we're painting my chassis and cleaning the tranny.
I'll be inside for installing the brakes though.

I still need to change out the valve springs and rebuild the carb on the 63 motor. I can bring motor and engine stand.

We'll stay all day Saturday. Let me know if you want me to bring some food or drink. I just need my carb zeroed in. May be I'll put down quick roof for sound deadner

I know the new dates are the same as Tannehill Bug Blast. We tried not to overlap, but it can't be helped.

I have never been to volkstock. What is the location?

Afternoon guys. Not new to the VW scene, but I'm a rookie air cooled guy. just picked up a 62 rag. We have some plans on sat. But I may be able to swing by on Friday evening. Always good to meet some local knowledgeable folks. Sounds like a good time -Jamie

The big weekend is fast approaching so do make time to buy the supplies you will need.

In general we always need plenty of paper towels, brake cleaner, hand cleaner, carb cleaner and other disposable things I can't think of right now.

Jacks and jack stands are always in high demand. Maybe a creeper or two and fans certainly help.

Towels, swimsuits, sunscreen, snack food, beverages, etc.....

Even if you can only stay a short time, make plans to stop by.

Starts next Friday! It will be a long week waiting for Volkstock.

I'll be there early Saturday. I'll bring My electrical tools and terminals and some wire and few special gizmos I have built for show and tell. Who knows you might want one. I'll bring a jack and jack stands, my torque tool for flywheels and axle nuts. All of the special tools I have for vw's. do I need to bring any food or drink?

Sunday is NGS's anniversary. I will have the anniversary speedo there in the van.

Bring any adult beverage you may want. We will have waters and we usually have plenty of food. If we come up short Publix is close by.

We all head over after we get off work on Friday. I'll probably arrive around 6:15. You don't need to bring anything and don't worry, we can put you to work. 

This is as much a social event as anything.

VOLKSTOCK BABY!!!!!!! It all starts tonight.

Wish we did stuff like that up here in the N.W. Corner...
I have gotta get the new pans in my Thing, but cannot figure a way to get the body off by myself....
