No Dough review + pics
"No Dough" was our first show since getting the Westy. I took Friday off and we left early that morning. We camped at Nova Campground with many other Vdubs.
This was a father-son trip and man did we have a great time. I really enjoyed the laid back feel of the whole weekend. I'm going to walk thru this chronologically in case anyone is considering next year, hopefully it will help you think it through.
We drove the whole way down Friday from ATL; down 75 to 10 to 95 south. It was warm on Friday and that made a long ride seem a little too long, I will break it up next time if its that warm. (Heat index was 87 in FL on Friday).
Nova is an okay campground. All the VWs made it worth it to me. If I had talked my wife and daughter into going, I think their reaction would have been more tepid. Something to keep in mind if you're having to talk your wife or girlfriend into going. My son and I can sleep anywhere. You can hear the nearby roads, it's not exactly "woodsy". But the staff was very nice and accommodating. It was a great location being near many of the gatherings.
Saturday morning we went to the Bay Window Rally. It was the first year and it had a great turnout I thought. It was held in a nice small park not far from Nova. They served a free lunch of hot dogs, chips, and drinks. At the end of the rally we met up on the beach with the Oil Puddlers group.
My son and I left the beach gathering a little early to cruise highway A1A, a very cruise worthy road if you ever get to. That night was another get together at Giuseppe's Pizza, also very close to Nova.
Then Sunday, the main event. I thought the facilities were fantastic. It was a park setting with a lake. Great bathrooms (nice if you're taking kids), good vendor layout. Oh, and the weather was great all weekend.
Drove all the way back on Sunday with much rain and traffic. Again, will consider breaking that up a little if time permits in the future.
I would definitely go again.

Re: No Dough review + pics
The lake at the main event isn't very good for fishing, I don't think there's anything in it
Still a good show!
