What is this?

I've seen it on just about every model of aircooled VW.
It's the tube looking object attached to the passenger side window. Next question is where can they be found? Are they still manufactured?

Looks like a big A jet engine? Thats the after market air cond. . Seen one or two at a.carshow.but havent heard or seen any on ga dubs.

There's been been a few for sale here. Search the samba classifieds for "swamp cooler" and you'll find some. They work best in really dry climates, so probably won't offer much relief in Georgia heat.

Or search "Thermador" one of the brand of cooler. Here is a perfect example of one....pretty clean.
