Forward progress is always a good thing. I am still busy turning rotten metal into dust. I get to do a cargo floor to. It doesn't look like it is going to be a fun project in a double.

Re: George, my 66 bus
I only went up one inch with it. I didn't want to get into the floor. As long as you follow the same angle as the steering column, you shouldn't have to do anything with the floor.

gerson @ klassicfab
Re: George, my 66 bus
Green metal is a signature color for Klassic Fab aka Gerson metal. It's supposedly the best fitting (true to original) metal on the market. Mostly type 2 metal replacement, but does have type 1 pieces. You'll pay a lil bit more for it but those who have used it swear by its fitment

i bought a few things (body wise) from mamotorsport terrible quality very thin and the curves were not the same at all they would have worked but it would mean doing the other side as well. i sent 4 of the 6 back good prices though. ill use the green metal next time. i only see 1 or 2 guys with green metal on thesamba

There are a couple of people on the samba who have his metal in stock, but most people who sell it order it from him at the customers request (need) and then charge you more aka middleman fee/profit. He (gearson) is on the samba also. If I were ever in the need for any more green metal I would try to get it from the source and cut out the middleman. Not sure if he does individusl request but it's wi rth a shot...he does (did) have some listings on the samba.

Re: George, my 66 bus
Yeah he is Klassic fab. I've ordered stuff straight from him. Great guy to deal with.earlyvwfanatic wrote:bayboy87 wrote:i bought a few things (body wise) from mamotorsport terrible quality very thin and the curves were not the same at all they would have worked but it would mean doing the other side as well. i sent 4 of the 6 back good prices though. ill use the green metal next time. i only see 1 or 2 guys with green metal on thesamba

Re: George, my 66 bus
The Klassic Fab (green metal) is sure enough thick metal, but, I'm not impressed with the fitment. The front floor didn't fit too great in my bus. Nothing is bent on the bus that I can see, it just didn't fit very well. I got the left side rocker stuck in place and started fitting the cargo floor as well. I will finish fitting it tomorrow and get some pics to post up. Trying to get everything fit and screwed in place for now. Then as I have time to weld, I'll remove the screws and weld it up.
