Columbus, Ga. Show
May 19, 2012 - Bugs on the Hooch
Columbus, Georgia
Okay guys,.......here's our chance to have a V-DUB car show/ swap meet in our area.
"Bugs on the Hooch" will be a family friendly, cool car event. We'd like to see all the " 10 on a scale of 10" cars, as well as the "hood rides and ratts".
We are located right next door to a park with a boat landing, bait shop, and picnic area....so there's something for eveyone. Bring the whole family and have a fun day at the park. Google the address and you'll see we have a wonderful location for this type of car show.
There will be fenced in area for vendors/swappers, with consessions provided.
All vendors and swap meet folks should contact me for availibility. There will be no cost for vendors/swappers. Admission to the show is free for all.
There will be corporate sponsers and maybe a BBQ cook-off.
We will choose a charity in our area. more on that later.
Thanks for your interest, and we look forward to meeting all the VW friends in our area !!!
p.s.......We have a super V-dub/fabricator/mechanic business with parts located on this site,....so come out and let's talk VW..............

He said not this year, but, next year he said he would be opening a field across from him to have camping in.

Re: Columbus, Ga. Show
Anybody else planning to check this out this weekend. We're not making CTS or SOWO, and were thinking about swinging by this show since it's fairly close by (and it'll give me a reason to swing by Fuddruckers!)

Well, I'm not totally sure we'll make it yet, just checking to see if anybody else was thinking about it. Weather is looking to be nice for a cruise down.

I'm not gonna make it to either show. Didn't get my car done yet and if I wanna have any chance of making it to YUBuggin, I'll have to put this weekend to work on it.

Re: Columbus, Ga. Show
Well, we decided to go! Got a late start though and didn't get there until around noon. Walked around and talked to a few folks for about an hour, then had to head out to do some running around and Fuddruckers, of course. Glad we went though, it was a fun drive and nice weather. I was worried about how the turnout was going to be since it wasn't really advertised that much, but it was pretty good for a first show (plus SOWO and CTS probably stole some of the regulars who would of maybe come out).

Re: Columbus, Ga. Show
No, unfortunately I didn't get any pics. I left the camera at home, and my phone battery was about dead. There weren't any entry fees, but I do believe they were going to be awarding some trophies. It had a pretty cool laid back vibe, just a bunch of VW folks getting together for a show and chatting it up about the hobby.

Re: Columbus, Ga. Show
I was there… I have the shiny odd painted black and red bug with the T bars. Had fun, great cars and great people. I thought it was a good turn out for the first go around too.
I saw/recognized your car there Eric from lurking on here. I was going to say hi but I was talking with some other folks and you took off before I was able to.
Some pics, I didn’t get all the cars that showed up but almost https://s24.photobucket.com/albums/c37/volksnhousin/Columbus%20VW/?albumview=slideshow
The trophies were hand made from old engine parts that the fabricator at the little shop there put together, cool gesture/effort especially seeing how there wasn’t even an entry fee.

Re: Columbus, Ga. Show
Great pics! There must have been a few that left before I got there, or showed up afterwards, cause there were a few in those pics I don't think I got to see. Come on up and say hi at the next show!
