Ghia body on Thing Chassis
My research indicates that this is very doable. Any thoughts?

Re: Ghia body on Thing Chassis
IIRC, assuming u still have the thing beam, you'll have to use different spindles, as the thing spindles are basically raised spindles (the baja guys use them on their cars). not sure if all things came with those type of spindles tho, not a thing expert. also not sure what the difference on the rear is, as far as what exatly raised the rear to match the front (maybe just re-indexed, idk). Also, some things came with a ZF, so if that chassis still has the thing trans, it might have one.

Raised Ghia would be sick. It would be a simple bolt on.

Turbo Mike...I am guessing that your comments are assuming that I would want the Ghia at stock ride height. Right?

Thanks Tim. And yes, for all you purists and anyone who is into the lowered look, sorry. But a raised Ghia is the plan.
I had read somewhere on the 'net that there were a couple of front pan to body bolts that might not line up. That was my main concern.

sorry, it just seems everyone on here slamms everything . raised ghia would be bad ass. Are you doing a baja ghia? if so here's some inspiration, lol:

Re: Ghia body on Thing Chassis
That is awesome. Prob not a Baja Ghia per se, but may use some of those styling cues.
